Take a day off with your
bride-to-be to plan
Now that you have proposed, where do you start. You have seen people do
it all the time, you think you know how to do it but haven't done it yourselves...
This is also another fun part. We suggest you take a day off, sit down with your partner
and list all the things that you need to do. Realistically, the things you want to do and
can afford to do can be quite different. Sitting down to discuss and penning it all down
will also mean you give yourselves ample time to plan. A lot of couples ditched good ideas
for their wedding just because there aren't enough time. Where should you start?
If you are reading this, obviously you are doing some research. You can start with our wedding planner which gives you a guide on when you should
complete certain things. Create yourselves a basic course on planning a wedding. Here what
you need. Read magazines that regulary have wedding supplements, get these from friends
who got married recently, they are also a good source of information. Write down all your
friends whom you think will have these.
List down all the major items that you will need for your wedding. This is for budgetting
purposes. We have done one. Start with our wedding budgeter.
To make this more useful you can key in three different levels of budget. Start with the
highest and work yourself downwards. Print these out. You will begin to get an idea of
what you can afford and where you can save.
Work delegation list. Make a list of things to do. From the most major to the most
minor. Who is to do what, when. We will be creating a tool on this soon. Leave us your e-mail and we will inform
you when it is done. For now you will have to do it yourself first.
Remember, when two of you sit and work out the list of all these things it will ensure
that it is more complete and more detail. She will think of friends who can help on
certain things that you don't. Besides, this is great for teamwork. Afterall, marriage is
teamwork for a lifetime - what better place to start.
