Save For Your Wedding
Have you ever calculated how much it costs to have a wedding?
Let's do some calculations today. I hope some of you who are reading this are actually
planning your wedding two years ahead of time because I found out recently that it can be
really expensive. Not that I do not know you will need money - just that this weekend I
discovered how much it would cost!!!
OK, OK, let's start and we will take the conservative figure for big ticket items only...
Gowns RM1,000 (let's say we rent), Suits RM800, Dinner RM500 per table (assuming Chinese
wedding dinner with 25 tables that amounts to RM12,500), Photography RM3,000, Honeymoon
RM5,000, traditional paraphenilia (like your hantaran if you are Malay/Muslim)
RM1,500.
Quick do a mental calculation - How much is that? That's a total of RM23,800!!! So,
if both of you can save RM1,000 per month you will need about two years to get there…good
