Decorating

You will soon move into your new home, decoration is going to cost $$$$.
You have just spent a bomb on your wedding, then there's the honeymoon, now you have to
think about decorating your new home. Where are you going to find the money to do that?
Well, last couple of weeks some girlfriends and I pulled together our resources to help a
couple 'do up their home'. They didn't spend a lot of money doing it. It was really
quite simple, they've got lots of ideas from magazines and ID catalogues and basically
asked friends and relatives if they have any similar looking furniture they wanted to give
away or sell (you will be surprised, they actually got more furniture than they need - I
guess people just like to help new couples set-up their lives). They also gave their place
(which was rented - they are saving to buy their own place) a new coat of paint.
New paint seems to give an old place a new lease of live. Anyway, they did buy some new
furniture from the hypermarkets (you know, the DIY shelves and cupboards) with the
intention to use it in the study when they have the money to buy more expensive ones to
replace these. It was fun seeing them make their home look good…it inspired me enough
to…clean up my place this weekend.
