Tips on Choosing a Bridal House
When both of you prepare for your wedding, you will both naturally be more sensitive to
topics related to weddings like restaurants, dinner table charges, honeymoon packages and
needless to say bridal houses to take your wedding photos. With the number of bridal
boutiques that is springing up in every city and town - how do you pick which bridal house
to use?
You may find these 8 steps useful:
- Ask to see some of your friend's wedding photos, note those
that you like enquire about the shop and prices.
- Create a list of shops (the length of the list depends on your
patience and availability of time), take a Sunday off (yes, most of these shops are open
on Sundays) to visit these shops.
- Look for a clean, tidy, and spacious studio. You will be
spending your whole day there, so you want to be sure both of you are comfortable.
- Ensure that the changing rooms are clean and toilets are dry!
This is especially important to the bride.
- Always remember your budget for the photography. Or at least
try. Couples normally burst their budget on this because of the "it's only once in a
lifetime" excuse. Pick a package that fits your budget.
- No price packages are fixed. You can always negotiate with
them on the things you want or don't want i.e., size of photo album, size of the framed
photos, etc. Remember, the money is in your pocket. You decide.
- Never ever be pressurised into putting a down payment to book
a certain package even if they say it is for "promotional season only." As long
as the money is still in your pocket you can always say no. No matter how much you like
the package, always shop around...of course do not offend anyone. Be sincere in your
bargaining.
- Brides should always try on different gowns with different
cuttings. You will never know how you look in a certain gown until you have tried it. Your
shop assistant should be able to advise you sincerely.
