Tips
Before Your Wedding Day
|
In the months preceding the wedding, maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly.
Have regular rituals to improve your skin, hair and nails to bring out that glow in you.
Believe me, its worth it.
Skin
Skin are generally categorized into 3 types i.e. dry, oily and combination. Its important
to know your skin type to use suitable skincare. Moisturisers are vital in protecting the
skin against water loss. Moisturisers are best used after cleansing or bathing when the
skin is most receptive. Once a week, exfoliate your skin from head to toe, massaging it
with your fingertips for a few minutes to remove the dead skin cells. Follow this with a
facemask to give your skin a boost. It tightens the skin, clears pores and further removes
dead skin. Also, it is important to have regular professional facial treatments,
preferably once a month for in-depth maintenance. Remember it is a critical time, so don't
take any risk trying new products. We advise you to stick to the brand you use regulary.
To add, drink lots of water daily, at least 6 glasses of water a day. If you don't drink
enough water, your skin will dehydrate. Remember, without a good skincare routine, your
skin will become dull and lax.
Hair
To keep your hair in tip-top condition, brush your hair daily with a good hair brush.
Brush your hair with your head down to stimulate circulation. Do that for at least 5
minutes. Then, using your palms, massage all over your scalp in circular motion for 2
minutes. Once a week, pamper your hair with hot oil, olive oil or hair conditioning cream
at home. If you have a bigger budget, have regular hair treatments at your favourite
salon.
Nails
To have strong and healthy nails, have regular manicures and
pedicures. It takes approximately six months for a fingernail to grow, so imagine the
time needed to produce results. Buff your nails once a week with a nail buffer in one
direction to stimulate the circulation of blood. Avoid using steel nail file as it may be
too harsh for your nail. If you use nail polish often, try not removing it everyday as
removers are damaging to the nails. If you have weak nails, use a nail hardener once or
twice a week to strengthen them.
You may choose to have artificial/fake nails done for you. But be aware of the risk
involved i.e., removing the artificial nail can be painful and there is a possibility of
fungus growing in the space between your real nail and artificial nail. This is because
the space will become damp when you wash your hands and cannot be thoroughly dried.
