Mount Kinabalu
International Climbathon
(October 7
- October 8)
Race with leading climbers
to reach the peak of Malaysias highest mountain, Mount Kinabalu. It is not the prize
money that is the main attraction instead the sheer fun and excitement of conquering one
of the toughest mountains race in the world that spurs many onwards (or upwards). The
climbathon covers a distance of 21 kilometers to and fro beginning from an altitude of
1,800 meters to a staggering height of 4,000 meters.

Descent white-water kayaking adventure to be held at Cameron Highlands, Pahang.

Deepavali

Amongst the Hindu people, Deepavali or the Festival of Lights signifies the triumph
of good over evil. Celebrated during the seventh month of the Hindu calendar, a
traditional oil bath precedes the festivity. Visits to temples are made and prayers are
also offered at household altars. The homes of the Hindu people are adorned with lights or
oil lamps during this occasion.
