Christmas
(December 25)

(Nationwide Public Holiday)
Christmas trees, colorful decorations, brilliant lights and Santa Claus can be seen in most shopping centers and hotels during the Christmas season. Midnight services are held in churches during Christmas Eve and carolers proclaim in song the Yuletide message on the streets of Malaysia.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri
(December 27-28)

(Nationwide Public Holiday)
Also known as Hari Raya Puasa, this is the most significant festival for the Muslims as it marks the end of the fasting month. The event is ushered in with prayers in the mosque and by asking forgiveness from family members. It is also customary for Muslims to open their homes to visitors as well as to visit friends and relatives. Some shops would even close in view of this occasion.
