Party the day before the
grand National day! There will be carnival-like festivities with mesmerizing dances,
colorful fireworks, performances by local artistes and the infamous countdown for the
raising of the Jalur Gemilang at midnight amidst excited cheers of “Merdeka!”

The country’s national day is celebrated on a grand scale with colorful parades,
stage shows, and competitions at major towns throughout the country. The flag of Malaysia
and several other attractive decorative items are donned on most buildings to add gaiety
and patriotism to the occasion.
• Eco-Challenge
2000 Borneo
(August)
This expedition will take
the teams through Borneo via ancient headhunter trails, remote rivers and tropical seas.
The competitors will have to navigate through ancient caves, paddle along winding rivers,
trek and mountain bike past rainforest trails, sail through coral-fringed islands, and
dive to an underwater coral reef. What an exciting challenge!
