Third
Time's The Charm
Hasta la vista, baby! Arnold
Schwarzenegger has reportedly signed on for Terminator 3.
Director James Cameron, who directed the first two Terminator
movies, has already read the script and may yet decide to join the
production. Cameron once decided that, because of his interest in Fox,
he would not do a Terminator film as long as producers Mario
Kassar and Andy Vajna controlled the rights to the franchise. Kassar
and Vajna bought over the rights to Terminator for US$8 million
when Carolco, the previous owners of the Terminator franchise,
went bankrupt and auctioned off its assets.
However, provided Fox gets distribution rights for the film,
Cameron may be open to talks as he is reportedly very enthusiastic
about the project. Terminator 3 is set to start shooting in
spring 2001. Terminator 2 was a massive hit when it was
released in Malaysia back in 1991, creating a minor cult following
here in Malaysia.
