'Soal Hati' Press Conference

Kuala Lumpur, August 18, 2000 (Friday) - At a press conference for 'Soal Hati', the new movie starring Erra Fazira and Afdlin Shauki, it was announced that there will be a charity premiere of 'Soal Hati' on 25 September, 2000 at Dewan Bandaraya, Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur. Tickets are priced at RM20, RM40 and RM100 per person. Proceeds from the charity premiere will be used to help out several local orphanages. Guests of honor at the press conference included Datin Farida Effendi Norwawi (wife of the Minister of Agriculture), 'Soal Hati' producer Mrs. Habsah Hassan, director Mr. Othman Hafsham and URTV editor Mrs. Fatimah Hassan. 'Soal Hati' is about the difficulties of love between rich kid Mohd. Daniel (Afdlin Shauki) and village humbug Nurul Ain (Erra Fazira).

Director Othman Hafsham said, "You know, this is a very unique film. During the editing process, I suddenly realized that 'Soal Hati' is actually a woman's film." He added, "Yes, I do believe in women's lib even though I'm not a woman. Just look at how many women leaders are there in the world. Examples would be Corazon Aquino, Benazir Bhutto and countless others."

He also revealed, "The script for 'Soal Hati' was actually kept for one year before I read it. Fortunately, during a flight, I managed to read it and realized that it was a good plot for a movie." And next, we've an interview with former Miss Malaysia and 'Soal Hati' star, Erra Fazira, coming up!!
