12 October 2000, British actress Kate Winslet, 25, gave birth to a
baby girl in a London hospital. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces.
Winslet and her husband, Jim Threapleton, 26, have decided to name
their newborn daughter Mia.
This is the first child for the celebrity couple, who got married
in 1998, and Winslet has decided to take a seven-month break from
acting in order to spend time with her family. Winslet has said before
that her family comes first before her career. Kate Winslet is best
remembered in Malaysia for 1997's No.1 smash hit, 'Titanic'.
