Magical
Hollow Man performance !!

Kuala Lumpur, August 25, 2000 (Friday) - Lucky surfers who logged
on to Maxis.net yesterday
received invitations to a special premiere of the terrifying thriller Hollow
Man. The blockbuster movie which stars Kevin Bacon and Elizabeth
Shue, features cutting-edge special effects from director Paul
Verhoeven ('Total Recall', 'Starship Troopers').
The screening, held at TGV KLCC Shopping Centre, opened with a
convincing 'Invisible Man' show. A female hostess introduced Sebastian
a.k.a. "The Hollow Man" who stopped short of appearing from
behind the curtain, waving his arm and hollering that the bright
lights be turned off. As the lights dimmed, he appeared from behind
the black curtains, wrapped in a light coloured trench coat, gloves,
latex head mask (as seen in the movie), sunglasses and a fedora.
An interview ensued whereby Sebastian talked about the evolution of
his invisibility and how they were successful with a large gorilla,
which then led to their next phase of human testing.
He then stood up and started to remove bits of his clothing, till
nothing was left, except his invisible self. Moving about the large,
crowded hall, the audience could follow him through the screams,
laughs and mumbles as an invisible body brushed past them and cheekily
picked up and tossed items around the hall. The hostess, unable to
control the situation, begged him to return to the front.
Finally, a call came in for Sebastian on the hand-phone at the
front. He picked it up, talked for about a second and rushed out of
the hall, brushing a plant and parting the curtains from which he came
in, on his way.
Just before the movie started, the audience was told to check under
their seats where prizes sponsored by Dockers, Kodak and Givenchy
might be found by a lucky few. Delighted gasps were heard around the
cinema hall from lucky patrons as they discovered their prizes. This
screening was another exclusive Maxis Net event together with Buena
Vista Columbia Tristar Films to celebrate the release of 'Hollow Man'.
In addition, Maxis Net provided mysterious door gifts as well as
'Hollow Man' premiums.
