Directed by Sylvia Chang.
In this romantic drama, Sylvia Chang plays a character very close to herself, a film
maker working with a writer on a movie about first love. The tale is told in flash-back
with the bright moment of romance between two shy youngsters, Ho-Jun (Takeshi Kaneshiro)
and Sheo-Rou (Gigi Leung). Ho-Jun (Takeshi) is a shy youngster, who is more interested in
his guitar rather than school. A chance encounter between Ho-Jun and Sheo-Rou (Gigi) leads
to their first sweet taste of romance. Caught between them is Sheo-Rou's best friend, Chen
Li (Karen Mok).
An innocent adventure turns sour, when Sheo-Rou's mother discovers that the young
couple have spent the night together at a hotel. Though nothing untoward actually occured,
pressure is placed upon both Ho-Jun and Sheo-Rou, and they eventually go their seperate
ways. Sheo-Rou turns to Chen Li for support, only to find that her friend's feelings for
her runs deeper than she ever realised.
Years later, Ho-Jun and Sheo-Rou are reunited, temporarily in Japan. Ho-Jun works as a
travel guide and Sheo-Rou as a buyer for a fashion firm. They enjoy brief moments of
romance, which ends when Sheo-Rou discovers that Ho-Jun is married. She then returns to
Hong Kong, and becomes engaged herself. Ho-Jun returns to Hong Kong to make one last
attempt to win Sheo-Rou, telling her that he has already divorced, but it is too late. As
Ho-Jun leaves Tokyo, the two promise to remain friends.
It is years later, that Cheryl or also known as Sheo-Rou finds out that Ho-Jun's wife
was actually Chen-Li. She finds this out only after Chen Li has died. Chen Li leaves a
message behind for Cheryl, asking her for forgiveness. Cheryl prepares to fly back to Hong
Kong to be with her family, Cheryl recives a final present from Ho-Jun. Inside the box,
are photographs, each taken while Ho-Jun was thinking about Sheo-Rou, of their brief and
bright moments of happiness.
