Directed by Bonnie Hunt, Return To Me is a romantic comedy about Bob Rueland (David Duchovny), a Chicago building contractor whose veterinarian wife Elizabeth Rueland (Joely Richardson) is killed in a tragic automobile accident. Meanwhile, friends and family of Grace Briggs (Minnie Driver) are overjoyed when they hear that Grace will receive a replacement heart transplant. As fate would have it, Grace receives the late Elizabeth's heart.

The first twenty minutes of this movie are vital to the story- it shows the love and bond between Bob and Elizabeth and how they cherished their life together. After Elizabeth dies, Bob is miserable. Even their dog Mel is miserable- waiting each day next to the door for Elizabeth's return. .After more than a year, Grace and Bob meet in Grace's grandfather's Irish-Italian restaurant that Grace works as a waitress in. Something clicks between them and they soon fall in love. But the question is, can Grace bare to tell Bob that she has his late wife's heart?

This movie gets rather predicable at times, but what makes the 'Return To Me' really fun to watch is the great performance by Carroll O'Connor as Grace's grandfather, Marty O'Reilly. Funny when he needs to be, yet with a serious and spiritual side, he is definitely the shining star of this movie.

Even though this movie is perhaps a little too predictable, it is still a heart-warming and touching story. Since there is a lesson to learn from every movie, this one would be that It really makes you think twice about appreciating the people you love and not really truly appreciating them until they leave.

One thing I realized about this movie that is getting to be quite uncommon in every other movie released is that it doesn't have any sex nor violent scenes, so it's a perfect movie for a date- you get the love, comedy and no weird uncomfortable moments in between. Personally I'd give this movie a rating of 3 ½ out of 5. If all this interests you, go watch the movie!!
