Komodo (eng)
Komodo follows the
grisly and terrifying adventures of a 15-year old boy, Patrick, who bears mthe
insufferable loss of his family in a horrific ordeal with Komodo dragons, the real-life
predators. Now silent and traumatised, Patrick's wealthy grandmother hires Dr Victoria
Juno to treat Patrick. She realises that the best way to dislodge Patrick's memories is to
return him to the scene of his terror - the island whose explosive and wily inhabitants
robbed him of his loved ones. But when they returned to the island, they are met with
deadly and horrendous consequences. Patrick and Dr Juno not only come face-to-face with

From
the writer of Anaconda and the producers of Deep Blue Sea. This movie is actually similar
to Anaconda, but this time, the snakes have legs and are known as komodo dragons.
The story begins 19 summers ago,
when a truck driver threw the eggs of the komodo dragons on a remote island, the Emerald
Isle. Thus, these reptiles start to reproduce and roam that isle.
19 summers later, Patrick Conolly
(Kevin Zegers), a 15 year-old kid, visits the isle with his parents. By that time, an oil
company has also settled down there. The parents then died tragically, killed savagely by
the carnivorous dragons. Patrick then suffers from bad memories, after seeing how his
parents were devoured. In comes Victoria Juno (Jill Hennessy), a psychiatrist who wants to
help Patrick recover from his trauma.
She brings Patrick back to the isle
to 'heal' his memory. In the mean time, Oates (Billy Burke), a biologist, is hired to kill
the reptiles together with Denby (Paul Gleeson).
The dragons thus start killing
everyone they see. Then they start running about the island, miraculously killing all the
reptiles as they go by (pretty much expected).
This movie barely passes for a
B-grade movie.
Pros: The special effects of this
show is quite credible and showcases a few cheap thrills. The beginning is quite
commendable.
Cons: Not worth paying the price of
the ticket. If you've watched Anaconda, don't bother watching this movie. This lousy movie
has a lousy dialogue with a lousy ending. |
