Based on the popular cartoon character of the same name, "Inspector Gadget is a
wild and quirky adventure comedy.
When Security Guard John Brown (Matthew Broderick), gets devastated dreams of becoming the
worlds greatest police officer gets his wish unexpectedly, he gets a new body with
exciting powers created by Dr. Brenda Bradford (Joely Fisher) to make John Brown the
ultimate law enforcement project. Only by mastering his new high powered equipment is he
able to save the world and win the girl's heart.
Using his vast array of craffted on gizmos and gadgets, Inspector Gadget must employ
all his common sense and skills to crack an especially complicated case. As he goes into
Riverton's darkest underworld, Gadget must not only save his reputation but rescue the
world from the notorious villian, Claw (Rupert Everett).
Sounds simple enough for Gadget? But, Gadget gets a sudden shock when Claw makes a
double of him and terrorizes Riverton. Robogadget goes around acting like godzilla and
thus making everyone run around in fear. Meantime, Gadget's trying to get back on his feet
again after being caught by Claw and trashed away at a junkyard without his Gadget chip
(virtually his life chip). Unable to wake up without the chip, Dr. Brenda and Penny
(Michelle Trachtenberg) comes to the rescue and finds him among the trash.
After a few sad and touching moments, Brenda gives a final goodbye kiss to Gadget and
suddenly he starts to work again amazingly without the help of the chip. Gadget's back
again and hes having a showdown with his double. The question is which Gadget will
triumph, Inspector Gadget or Robogadget? Will Riverton be a safe place to live again?.
