Sapna
(Karishma Kapoor) is brought up by three uncles who have totally different personalities.
One is a fitness freak, another is a religious buff (Om Puri) and the last is a softie
(Anupam Kher). All three uncles plan to marry Sapna off to a man of their own choice.
Sapna wishes to find and fall in
love with a man of her own choice. So she decides to have her own adventure. Off she goes
on a trip to Europe. She meets overbearing Raja (Salman Khan) who is also on the trip to
win her heart and make her his bride.
Is it a fashion statement or what
for directors of indian cinema to produce movies in foreign countries. I am not
complaining but it seems as if, India has run out of beautiful places of her own to be
shown off.
After a while I lost count of how
many songs there were in this movie. I felt as if the entire cast was in a perpetual
singing and dancing mood.
Although the story lacked depth and
was very much mediocre, it is one of those feel good movies that leaves us saying 'how
come my life is not like that, wan'. Fans of Salman and Karishma would probably enjoy
their friendly bantering throughout the movie. Karishma as always comes in the most
fashionable clothes and this time around she looks so darn slim. And Salman, need I say
more, his charm and body (shirtless) is bound to blow those S-A-L-M-A-N shrieking girls
and boys away.
However, since I am not a Salman
fan, I enjoyed watching Anupam Kher the most in the movie. He was quite hilarious in his
role as the uncle with a feminine personality. Throughout the movie he sways gracefully
and wears a silly wig. Each time Karishma wishes to kiss his bald plate, she removes his
wig. Aiyo! Cutelah.
By the way, take notes if you are
planning a trip to Europe. I felt like a tourist watching the entire movie. (sighing).
Darn! I wish I was there. |
