A serial diabolical killer
leaves a trail of cryptic messages hidden at the scene of the crime. Clues which only a
brilliant mind can interpret. A brilliant mind like Lincoln Rhyme's, once the country's
leading criminologist until a near-fatal injury left him bed-bound. Together with
street-smart policewoman Amelia Donaghy who must become Rhymes' eyes, ears and legs, and
scouring the horrific crime scenes for evidence, they both must race against the clock to
prevent the next hideous act of this brutal killer. Starring: Denzel Washington, Angelina

Oh
no!, Not another predictable not-so-detective movie!. I`m sure that's what most of you are
thinking when you read the synopsis for this movie. Every audience is the
"professional" in figuring out whom is the murderer and who is going to die
next, but in this case, things are a little different.
Pulled off nicely by an incredible
lead cast of Academy Award winner Denzel Washington, Golden Globe winner Angelina Jolie,
and Grammy Award-winning rap artist Queen Latifah, this is one movie that most people will
enjoy. If you loved the movie 'Seven', the one with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, you'll
pretty much like this movie as well.
'The Bone Collector', based on a
book by Jeffry Deaver, is a movie about a murderer loose on the streets of Manhattan,
luring the victims into his taxi cab. Of course, the bad guy must be chased by the good
guys, as many probably have guessed right, played by Denzel Washington as the character
Lincoln Rhyme and Angelina Jolie as Amelia Donaghy. Lincoln Rhyme is a legend in the
police force, specializing in forensics who is left bed ridden after a crippling accident
that rendered his arms and legs useless. Amelia Donaghy on the other hand is a normal
everyday street cop that comes across a gruesome crime scene courtesy of the murderer.
Soon enough the duo meet each other
after finding out that the crime was no simple homicide. From there onwards, suspense
builds up as more murders occur and the bodies pile up. The rest of the story, well, you
people find out yourselves. Although containing no flashy special effects, I would
recommend you watch it on the big screens. Due to the dark nature of the movie, naturally
the lighting would be very low, so regular VCD renters will find themselves squinting at
the screen wondering what on earth they are looking at.
All in all I would say that the
movie is worth the money you are going to pay. Not the best movie ever released but
definitely a good movie all the same. Just don't take the cab-driver thing too seriously
though... |
