All those who think R Mathavan (the main actor) is adorable, say 'aye' loudly. All those who want to get married to R Mathavan ....ummm.....pick a number. Alright 'nuff said about my girlish fantasies. Now back to the movie.

And so the story goes with Karthik reminiscing about the time when he met Sakthi, fell in love and married her without parental consent. Sakhti is the younger of two girls from a middle class family whose parents struggle to support her in medical school. Whilst Karthik is a brash youth with no clear ambitions in life. Both families are at opposite ends, one being liberal and the other conservative.

Sakthi's parents were not pleased when Karthik's parents came to seek the hand of their younger daughter and thus do not agree to the couple tying the knot. The young couple not being able to live without each other decide to get married secretly. (Kids do not try this at home).

Once Sakthi's parents find out about her marriage, she is chased out of her house. Both Sakthi and Karthik have to fend for themselves and discover the meaning of being married to each other.

This is a lovely story and my only grouse is that the scriptwriter could have explored deeper into the relationship of Karthik and Sakthi. Although the movie was a trifle superficial the overall essence of the movie is good.

Director Manirathinam (of Roja, Anjali, Bombay, Uyire etc. fame) who is famous for giving us good tearjerker movies did an excellent job in capturing the scenes of a struggling middle class family. I could relate to it. The petty squabbles between the husband and wife were very real too. Nothing idealistic. I am quite sure there are many youngsters out there who would be able to relate with this movie.
